Big Table

Big Table features prominent players from both the southern and northern dance music traditions. From this blend emerges a strong rhythmic groove over which the fiddle and accordian interact to create an exciting and compelling sound for contra and square dancing. Big Table has performed at many dance events and festivals and it can truly be said that the summed experience of the members of the band -- Judy Hyman (fiddle), Jeremiah McLane (accordian), Larry Unger (guitar), Jeff Claus (banjo uke and guitar), and June Drucker (bass) -- covers most of the major dance events and folk festivals in North America. Among the well-known bands that Big Table members have performed with are The Horse Flies, Nightingale, Clayfoot Strutters, Reckless Ramblers, Reckless Abandon, The Heartbeats, and The Improbabillies.

Big Table also presents concerts of original and traditional instrumental music and songs. Big Table offers workshops in old-time fiddle, celtic tunes, accordian, banjo uke, standup bass, blues guitar, contradance backup piano, and guitar backup styles (swing, cajun, Irish, old-time, Scottish, and more).

Jeremiah McLane (accordian) From Vermont, accordianist and pianist Jeremiah McLane also plays with the versatile, exciting Clayfoot Strutters and Nightingale, a band whose music ranges from thrilling to haunting. Both Strutters and Nightingale have recorded and toured extensively, playing dances and concerts. Full bio
